Where can I buy variegated seeds in Costa Rica?

I am living in the Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica, where the climate is great, yet people don’t seem to garden much. The only seeds I found for sale were tomatoes, lettuce, cauliflower, onion, radish, carrot… the basic.
I am looking for strawberries, blackberries, lavender, broccoli, etc, but it’s really hard to find anything in this place.
Would anyone know more about it? Or even just online to ship over here, but not necessarily from the States. Maybe Mexico would have more variety?
Or even from the States, any good websites?

"Since 1909, Burpee has added many other extensive breeding and growing facilities, and such farms are now located in Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, northern and southern California, and Costa Rica."
Their list of vegetable seeds is on the right side of the page. You can type in the name in the search on the left of the page:

They have many herbs:

flights from philippines to san jose, costa rica?

what are the possible routes?

can anyone help me find available bookings from

august 23 to september 31?
(one round trip ticket)
(one one way ticket)
both adults

thank you!!

It looks like most of the flights would go non-stop from Manilla to Los Angeles on Phillipines air.

From there you could fly non-stop on Lacsa Airlines to San Jose Costa Rica.

That would probably the best, and cheapest route.

Flying into SJO Costa Rica will vacation near LIR airport how to book flight from LIR to SJO?

Flying round trip in to San Jose, Costa Rica. Staying near LIR international airport. What is the best way to book a flight from LIR to SJO airport. what would be the cost?

Flights to Liberia are limited. You can book flights on Sansa airlines from SJO which leave at 6 a.m. 11:37 a.m. and 5 p.m. Nature Air which flies from another airport in San Jose has a 2 p.m. flight. You can book both via the internet. The cost is about $90 each way. i think both limit total baggage weight to 25 kilos.

My future husband and I are interested in seeing volcanoes, going through the rain forests and doing zipline tours. Please let me know if anyone knows of any good places! Thanks!

Your perfect spot will be Hotel Diria on Tamarindo Beach on the West coast or the Pacific side of Costa Rica! Its right on the Beach as well as the Main Road in the town!

What is the best time of year to visit Costa Rica?

My sister and I would like to visit Costa Rica sometime in 2008. Does anybody know what the best month is to visit in terms of avoiding a lot of rain? I know it’s tropical and varied, but I heard some parts of the year are best avoided. What are those times to avoid? Thanks!

For most of Costa Rica, I would go with the early dry season starting in mid- December or so, its still very green but it won’t rain on you and it’ll be sunny. Late dry season (up to March/April) ain’t bad either but in NW Costa Rica (Guanacaste, Nicoya) many trees have lost their leaves and its not as lush. May to Sept. is wet season but not too bad, it’ll rain once a day for maybe 2-3 hours but will be nice the rest of the day. In NW CR this is quite nice, the rain is short and just enough to cut the heat. The late wet season is very very wet and I would avoid it.

The Caribbean coast has a different climate, my impression is that its pretty rainy there year-round.
