Is Paradisus Playa Conchal in Costa Rica to far away from the places that we will want to see?

We are staying in an All Inclusive Resort for convience but want to be able to see Costa Rica while we are there. (Rainforest, Arenal, etc) Please advise if we should look for a different place to stay.

It is far but you should definately still stay on the coast – I just got back from Playa Grande – not far from there and it is beautiful. The interbus is a great way to get to Arenal – Monteverde etc.. There are lots of places to stay there and look around because you can pay anywhere from 400 – 1200 per month right near the beach

cancun or costa rica in July?

I am planning to take my Mom for a nice vacation (kinda Mother/daughter thing). The timeframe is July 1-18th. I am currently thinking between Cancun or Costa Rica. We are not the type of people who would be happy just spending this whole time at one resort, wetbars and spas. Ideally I’d love to combine a few days on the beach/snorkeling etc with some adventure tours – see Mayan ruins, or going on nature tours. Since I am travelling with Mom, adventure has to be safe :) Neither of us has ever being to Mexico or Costa Rica, so any advice will be useful. The biggest concern is rainy season/hurricane season, and also what to do. In Cancun -with day trips to Mayan ruins, horse riding, cenotes, etc – is there enought to do for 18 days? Is it better to stay in all inclusive hotel? In Costa Rica – how rainy is it and what is the general advice you’d give? Thanks in advance :)

Just by the way you word the comments after your main question, it is easy to see you are really leaning towards Cancun. That’s ok ’cause each location has its pro’s and con’s. Basically, if you love nature, by all means go to Costa Rica.

One BIG disadvantage in answering your question is that you are comparing Cancun (which is a coastal city in Mexico’s easternmost state, Quintana Roo, on the Yucatan Peninsula) with Costa Rica (a Central American country). You cannot get a GOOD answer by comparing a city with a country!

Even though Costa Rica is a small country, it is large enough that weather patterns in the northwest are different from the south and the Pacific side from the Atlantic side. (October is generally the rainiest month in most of Costa Rica.) July could still be okay.

There can be a lot more variety within a country than within a (city) area. Also, whether you plan to rent a car or not, would make a BIG difference in which location to choose. (Without a car, it would not be easy to get around in a country vs a city.)

I wish you luck in your choice. This question was intriguing to me since I am from Mexico (originally) but live in Costa Rica.

Gay Hotel in La Fortuna Costa Rica- Abercam

http://www.abercamlafortuna.com/

Our little town, La Fortuna, Costa Rica, finally has its OWN, all inclusive, men only (sorry ladies- you understand) gay hotel. And, I must say, it would make any gay man PROUD. Its called Abercam La Fortuna. Weve had the chance to stay there, but the best part, the owners Tim and Wayne have become good friends of ours after DAngelo and I reviewed their place a while back. Needless to say, weve been back MANY times since. Not because we spend the night per se, but they also sell day passes where you can hang out at the clothing optional pool area (not that we would EVER take our clothes off, wink, wink) and enjoy the surroundings with your favorite frosty beverage. And with the glorious Arenal Volcano in view, you couldnt ask for better surroundings.

Before you know it, La Fortuna will be right up there with Manuel Antonio as another popular gay destination in Costa Rica, although I never see the day where Lake Arenal will have a gay beach, hehehe. So, if you ever get the chance, visit Abercam La Fortuna, and dont forget to call us, were always looking for a day off. And as always, ever in La Fortuna Costa Rica on your travels, feel free to stop by, and don’t forget the Cacique.

I have been to Costa Rica several times and I have never seen or heard of an adults only resort in Costa Rica or anywhere else in Central America. There are however several adults only options in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and on some of the Caribbean islands including Jamaica, Antigua,St.Lucia and also in the Bahamas.

going to costa rica never been there can anyone tell me the best place for the money all inclusive place?

i woild like a nice resort were i can stay or rent a jeep and roam around

A nice resort means being in a place that can be your own country, no culture, etc. I would recommend you to rent the jeep and look around for yourself. A good guide for you to plan better, would be Costa Rica Lonely Planet.

I really would recommend you to stay in nice Costa Rican hotels in this way you make sure the money really gets to the local ones and not to the people from the country.

I would recommend you a nice Costa Rican place where you could really rest and enjoy from different activities at the same time. Check this website: http://www.hotelcasaturire.com/index-en.html

Have a nice trip to Costa Rica

Traveling to Costa Rica June. Is this a good time? What is a good all inclusive place to stay?

Me and my family are thinking of traveling to Costa Rica in late June early July. My mom wants an all inclusive resort where she can veg by a clean beach and read all day. She is very much into room sservice. My brother and I want a clean beach to snorkel and hang in the water, a hotel semi close to town so we can go to clubs at night and close to the airport. We also want to do a few things on the island: Nature walking, see some waterfalls, go shopping a little bit.
What is the best semi cheapest but Nice all inclusive hotel to stay at?
Any suggestions on what we should do while we are there?

here are some website you can go:
