My fiancee and I are looking to go to Guantacaste, Costa Rica for our honeymoon. Looking for some info!!!?
My fiancee and I are looking to go to Costa Rica for our honeymoon. My parents have a week at a timeshare we can use. A travel agent told us to look at www.viator.com to book excursions such as the zipline tours, snorkeling, etc. The only problem is that all of the excursions leave from San Jose and the one resort there for the timeshare is CRUDDY!!! We’re looking to maybe go north to Guanacaste instead (several nice time share places) but want to make sure we can do all of the same fun stuff. I’m looking for anyone who has been there who would have some helpful information! Please let me know!
It’s Guanacaste (just one T) and there are pages of info on places to go and things to do in Guanacaste on the web.You should be able to find that most,if not all of the things you want to do are also available in Guanacaste. You’re making the right choice by avoiding San Jose.Have a great honeymoon!
Help with fun things to do in Costa Rica for Honeymoon…?
I’m looking for some exciting and relaxing things to do in Costa Rica.
You are certain to find anything that really turns you on in Costa Rica! They have "Tourist" attractions all over the place!
Like Horseback riding, White River Rafting, Canopy Rides over the tops of rain forest trees, Surfing and trying to out paddle the salt water crocodiles in the Pacific in NW Costa Rica, Fishing in Quepos for the Worlds biggest est sail fish and Marlin, Casinos, Swimming in the Oceans, Visiting their Volcano’s just to name a few!
And if you tire of your wife – you can always visit some of the most beautiful women in the world who frequent the Hotel Del Rey – downtown San Jose who will greet you with a "HEY BABY! YOU WANT SOME COMPANY TONIGHT?"
Then there is always drinking the best beer in the World – their IMPERIAL, and IMPERIAL LIGHT! – which usually runs about a buck a bottle at most places!
Costa Rica or Brazil honeymoon in June?
Please help guys: Which is a better honeymoon destination Brazil or Costa Rica. The big problem is that we’re going at the end of June/start of July so I know it’s probably not the best time to go to either. We just want to have a nice, chilled, out time in a beautiful location, with a little sun thrown in for good measure. We chose Brazil first, but then were told it was cold in the south in June/July, then we chose Costa Rica, only to find out that it is really commercialized and very rainy in these months.
Please help with any experiences you have! Thank you!
Just got back from my honeymoon in Porto de Galinhas, Brazil. It is located in northeastern Brazil – just 60 kms south of Recife. LOVED IT. I definitely recommend going. For the last 7 years it has been voted the Best Beach of Brazil (by the Brazilians). It is a VERY safe town and the beaches are incredible. Tons of activities, great shopping and wonderful restaurants. It was a dream honeymoon that was quite easy on the wallet.
Where is a great place to go on a Honeymoon? Costa Rica? Cancun? Hawaii?
Puerto Rico. they have all kinds of facilities, know English. It has very interesting things to see, in addition to the already shown in catalogs. You can take a ferry from Fajardo to visit Culebra. Has the third most beautiful beach in the world. In other beaches you can surf. If you want to stay overnight, good and cheap hotel.Nice night amusement, or you can go back to the island to your hotel. Nice place to go Virgin Islands hopping.
If you are lucky you can see whales migrate in the west of the islands. In the south there is phosphorescent bay, but have to go with new moon to see it better. in San Juan area, lots of places to enjoy. or can cross the island, north to south, the old way and see things you never imagined, you can go by the highway, and miss it. nice drive. People are very nice, nothing to do with what you have heard of puertorricans. if you get sick, great hospitals.
Its the best choice of the Caribbean. The most developed Island in the area, without quiting to their Spanish enchant.
Honeymoon In Costa Rica?
I am wondering if anyone has gone to Costa Rica. What was it like? Did you stay at an All-Inclusive resort? Do you know any good but reasonable All-Inclusive resorts there?
We are thinking of going there for our honeymoon next September……if anyone has info or experiences…please share.
A good all inclusive hotel in Costa Rica is the Barcelo Playa Tambor. Because of the many eco tourism options that exist in Costa Rica, the all-inclusive hotels are not as popular as in other Countries, but if you really want all inclusive the Barcelo Tambor is my recommendation.
If you are willing to travel a little more I would like to suggest a honeymoon itinerary:
First stop : Hotel Finca Rosa Blanca in Heredia, not far from the San Jose airport
Next stop: Tabacon HotSprings Resort and hotel, this place is amazing
Final beach stop, any hotel at Tamarindo Beach, nice mix of beach and Costa Rican flavor
October Honeymoon in Costa Rica?
My fiance and I are thinking about going to Costa Rica for our honeymoon the 2nd week of October. We are looking for a place that is by the beach and is 4 or 5 star, possibly all inclusive, but doesn’t have to be. Also, two of the things we would like to do is the Canopy zip lines and the ATV tour. From reading others answers, I can’t figure out a town that is safe to walk and explore the town yet with everything I mentioned above.
Thanks!
I would like to stay on the pacific side as well
I just read that October is pretty rainy in October, is there an area that is better in October in Costa Rica?

I have decided I think on Manuel Antonio. I also like tamarindo but not sure which one to choose!
Well you are being pretty specific, i’m not entirely sure on where you could go to. But what you could do is visit 2 or 3 different places. You could go to a hotel in Guanacaste, you want a 5 star, so probably you want to stay in he Four Seasons, or maybe Paradisus Playa Conchal, both a very nice hotels. Then if you want to do the ATV tour and Canopy, you probably want to go to Arenal, there are some very nice hotels there too for example Tabacon which is the most famous one, it has hot springs inside the hotel and an very good view of the volcano. Another place you could probably Canopy and ATV at is Monterverde, which is also very nice, but its cold so i dont think you want that.
And yes, October is not only very rainy, its the rainiest season here. But you are going to the pacific side which is always pretty dry so it won’t be too bad.
Hope that helps
beautiful plants
This rock was covered in tiny waterfalls! So Cool!
