Would you like to have a spa/beauty service in your hotel of Costa Rica?

March 9th, 2010

I’m an experienced massage therapist and owner/manager of a spa in Canada (since year 2000). I’ve been to Costa Rica before and I love this country! My dream is to open a spa in Costa Rica and move there.

I speak french and english and would like to learn spanish as soon as possible. I also have 2 years of experience as an inn director (60 employees).

If you own an hotel and would like to have a spa/beauty service but you don’t have the skills to do it, I would love to help you!

Please email me!

Hotel Casa Marbella – Mal Pais, Santa Teresa, Costa Rica

March 7th, 2010

Welcome to Casa MarBella Hotel Mal Pais Costa Rica. Experience the unprecedented beauty of local scenery at Hotel Casa Marbella Malpais, Costa Rica.

Comfortable ambiance in the midst of the Costa Rica tropics. Hotel Casa Marbella is a boutique hotel in Malpais Costa Rica, centrally located in Santa Teresa across the street from the beach overlooking the Pacific Ocean of Costa Rica.

Surrounding Area
Santa Teresa/Mal Pais Area

The towns of Santa Teresa and Mal Pais sort of blend together as one. There is only one main road that runs along the coast and for the first time it can be a bit confusing.

However, when most people say Mal Pais, they are referring to the Mal Pais/Santa Teresa area in general and use them interchangeably.

Santa Teresa is located in the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula in the Guanacaste region. It is characterized by broad, white sand beaches with picturesque backdrops around every corner and dramatic sunsets.

This area enjoys warm and clear water with world class waves available. The beach combing here is second to none. At lower tides you can find numerous tide pools hidden along the rock outcroppings complete with colorful tropical fish.

As you walk through town you will most likely encounter howler monkeys, iguanas, green parrots, red squirrels and birds of all types.

Once here, it is easy to see why these beaches were named the Top Ten Most Pristine Beaches in the World by Forbes magazine. It has earned the prestigious Bandera Azul (Blue Flag) ranking which is awarded to clean, ecologically friendly areas by the government.

Besides the natural scenic beauty, there are a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops making it a destination that has something for everyone. People from all over the world have all become neighbors and business owners in this little slice of Costa Rica.

Costa Rica – hotel in Manuel?

March 7th, 2010

We’re planning a trip to manuel and will be staying in a hotel there for 3 nights. We’ve narrowed our search to sicomono or hotellastresbanderas, but the price difference is significant. Has anyone stayed at these hotels? I don’t need 4 star, but I don’t want to be in a dirty room or dangerous area.

I’ve stayed in Si Como No, and it was heavenly. If you’re into supporting ecotourism at all, they’ve really made an effort. I think they said something like only one tree was cut down when they built the entire hotel? Very remarkable. Clean, pleasant rooms, wonderful service and staff, luxurious food, pools…not a bad word to say about it.

I don’t know anything about Hotel Las Tres Banderas, so I can’t argue against it, but I’d always recommend Si Como No.

Oh – and its "Manuel Antonio"…makes a difference.

Is the Apartotel Sesteo in Costa Rica a good hotel?

March 5th, 2010

I will be going to Costa Rica. I will be staying in San Jose for 1 night. There is a hotel there that is called the Apartotel Sesteo. Has anyone been to it? Is it a nice hotel?

Apartotel Sesteo is not listed on the TicosLand web directory. However, I can tell you that it is near La Sabana park. It is on the southern end of the park which has been reporting a lot of robberies and break ins, according to a recent report in La Nacion, Costa Rica’s leading Spanish language newspaper. It is only for one night, though. It might turn out better than you expected.
We have many other apartotels listed on the TicosLand website. You can always visit our website, have a look around and see if you can find better accommodations.

Is there any nice eco boutique hotel near Jacó, Costa Rica?

February 28th, 2010

Is there any nice eco boutique hotel near Jacó, Costa Rica? Somehere where I can find a nice ecological environment near and out of the rush of Jacó.

You can try Playa Hermosa, near Jacó, but my best bet is Terrazas del Pacífico. They just got some awards such as the blue flag since they lowered contamination of the beach almost to none.
The place its beachfront so when you wake up you´ll have the ocean in front of you and its only about 5 minutes from Jacó.
You can also try Hermosa, like Hotel Fuego del Sol, also beachfront, but Terrazas is more secluded than the other ones since its the only hotel at that beach.
If you want more information you can go to my online chat at http://costaricanativa.com/
