Costa Rica – hotel in Manuel?
We’re planning a trip to manuel and will be staying in a hotel there for 3 nights. We’ve narrowed our search to sicomono or hotellastresbanderas, but the price difference is significant. Has anyone stayed at these hotels? I don’t need 4 star, but I don’t want to be in a dirty room or dangerous area.
I’ve stayed in Si Como No, and it was heavenly. If you’re into supporting ecotourism at all, they’ve really made an effort. I think they said something like only one tree was cut down when they built the entire hotel? Very remarkable. Clean, pleasant rooms, wonderful service and staff, luxurious food, pools…not a bad word to say about it.
I don’t know anything about Hotel Las Tres Banderas, so I can’t argue against it, but I’d always recommend Si Como No.
Oh – and its "Manuel Antonio"…makes a difference.
Is the Apartotel Sesteo in Costa Rica a good hotel?
I will be going to Costa Rica. I will be staying in San Jose for 1 night. There is a hotel there that is called the Apartotel Sesteo. Has anyone been to it? Is it a nice hotel?
Apartotel Sesteo is not listed on the TicosLand web directory. However, I can tell you that it is near La Sabana park. It is on the southern end of the park which has been reporting a lot of robberies and break ins, according to a recent report in La Nacion, Costa Rica’s leading Spanish language newspaper. It is only for one night, though. It might turn out better than you expected.
We have many other apartotels listed on the TicosLand website. You can always visit our website, have a look around and see if you can find better accommodations.

Is there any nice eco boutique hotel near Jacó, Costa Rica?
Is there any nice eco boutique hotel near Jacó, Costa Rica? Somehere where I can find a nice ecological environment near and out of the rush of Jacó.
You can try Playa Hermosa, near Jacó, but my best bet is Terrazas del Pacífico. They just got some awards such as the blue flag since they lowered contamination of the beach almost to none.
The place its beachfront so when you wake up you´ll have the ocean in front of you and its only about 5 minutes from Jacó.
You can also try Hermosa, like Hotel Fuego del Sol, also beachfront, but Terrazas is more secluded than the other ones since its the only hotel at that beach.

Driving distances in Costa Rica? Romantic hotel ideas?
Hi… How long is the drive between San Jose and Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica? Is there a closer airport to Manuel Antonio?
I hear Manuel Antonio is very romantic with alot of activities available… are there other areas good for a romantic private vaction? Any secluded hotel ideas for honeymooners?
Thanks much in advance!
I’m not sure why google maps is giving me such a hard time with costa rican info…
I think it took us about 3 or 4 hours to get from San Jose to Manual Antonio. There is a small airport outside Quepos and if you wish you can take a puddle jumper from San Jose to Quepos. It is definitely quicker than driving.
We stayed at the Costa Verde Resort. This place is perfect for honeymooners. The resort is spread out over a large slab of land so it gives the illusion of privacy, but with all the modern conveniences. The have a gift shop and restaurant on property and 2 more within walking distance. The rooms were very large and clean with a full kitchen. There were hiking trails right on property. My favorite characteristic was the huge balcony overlooking the ocean and the big rocking chairs
Keep in mind that driving is CR is much different than in the states. The roads are not well marked and in many cases not well maintained. So even if things look close, it doesn’t mean you’ll necessarily be able to drive their quickly.
I usually leave the driving to someone else. I get a shuttle or cab to my location and I use tour companies that do hotel pickup (most of them) and use local cabs for going farther distances to explore. Driving can be an adventure or a nightmare if you aren’t familiar, and I prefer to keep my adventures with a guide in the jungle.
