7 days in Costa Rica, where to go? Bought Air/Hotel package, home base will be hotel in San Jose?
I’m headed out the first week in October. After doing a lot of reading, I see that renting a car is probably not the best bet. Can anyone recommend an itinerary that would allow me to see some beautiful parts of Costa Rica on day trips outside of the city? Also, how much does a private taxi cost for the day?

sorry that you bought the air/hotel package…..cuz the airport is in Alajuela for one and also San Jose is just another big city…you really don’t need a taxi…the bus is the way to go…where to go depends on what you want to see?!….Poas isn’t very far and it could easily be done in one day…also check out hatchedtoflyfree.org….go and see the macaws…they are very endangered……one moe thing—check with the place you are staying at..i am sure they will have lots of information on what you can see and most will have hotel pick ups

What coast should I aim to go to in Costa Rica?
Me and my wife are thinking of just up and going to Costa Rica for a week and leave this weekend, I have been looking at flight+hotel packages and they all seem to be on the west coast. Any special reccomendations on the west to stay? tour whatever? Or should I be trying to stay on the east side? Oh and what airport to fly into
The Caribbean side of Costa Rica is definately the place to go for underwater recreation: scuba and snorkeling.
For everything else, the Pacific side has the best tourism environment.
The Southern Pacific is more untouched rainforest and more exciting nature.
The North Pacific has the most established tourist services like resorts and organized recreation.
Liberia is the best place to fly into for The North Pacific destinations and SJO for the Central and South Pacific.
How long does it take a package to clear customs in Costa Rica?
If you send it using one of the main courier companies like UPS, Fedex, they offer you the service and it would took a few hours.
In general, it takes like a day for a package to clear customs, depending of what is the content of the package.

This website was one of the first to appear on google. Apparently it is offering vacation packages, very reasonable, that offer dinner every night and a 4×4 car rental to get from place to place. Currently, my three friends and I are planning a senior trip to Costa Rica this summer, when we all turn 18. We quickly found this site and decided to give it a try, but upon further looking, we could find no reviews for the service. We want to make sure that this isn’t a scam or bad company. Is there anybody who can possibly help?
please…please….please do not buy a travel package!!!!!!….where is your sense of adventure??…just come…many hostels for $10…bus service is good….get the lonely planet book….with a package you go along with their plans…..on your own you decide when,where,how long everything….a very easy country to enjoy…get the book and study it
