dude…
there are quite of different places here to surf
ocotal, nosara, tamarindo, mal pais, jaco, playa hermosa, dominical, pavones…
come and you’ll see

there are normal food here, i mean, rice, beans meat, vestables, burguers, pizza…

each place is unique, but like tamarindo, jaco and some other towns are quite expensive cuz they are bigger than the others

the red hot chilli peppers like to go to pavones and mal pais cuz they are small towns and they want to get away from it all

Any tips for surf fishing on the pacific side of Costa Rica?

going to the pacific coast of costa rica and I don’t do much salt water fishing, I just bought a surf casting rod to bring down with me, and looking for any tips or advice.

fly fish for rooster fish. They fight like mad no matter what the size. You walk up and down the beach until you see their fin above the water, cast, and badabing, serious action.

Costa Rica, Good Surf Spots?? Not Crowded?? Panama?

I am looking to plan a straight up surf trip. But I dont want to go to some crowded destination where there are a million Kooks out in the water there to ruin my time. I heard Panama had amazing surf and of course I know about costa. Just want to see if anyone has any good advice or perhaps a secret spot. Peace

surf trip to costa rica can i come? but if you are looking for good swell go during the winter time, summer time hear in the states. soon as you land head to jaco, good waves, nice town but a little on the high dollar side, but theres some good spots south of jaco, like plays hermosa, tuillin(which is next to hermosa about 3 miles at the end of the dirt road) also theres el almendro, good place to get hurt. also domincal is awesome on clear sunny days, also south of jaco. go to puntarence and take the faerie across and check out gunacasca, head north up the coast to marbella, great wave. the place in endless summer is called olias point and where robert lives is playa negra good spot too. the locals in costa rica are puda vida, good food, nice girls and you can find good waves almost everyday. the east coast needs some help with swell, limon is the first spot not to much to do but i’ve been to boca bruja south of limon, really sick wave there.

i lived in panama for 5 years too. best place is santa catalina, look it up, great point break, plus there playa elmar, nice point too. but costa rica is the best for a good vacation and to catch waves. but i was serious about wanting to go

have fun and drink a coconut for me

I am going to costa rica for 2 months to surf, and they dont have a gym where i am going what should i do?

I was thinking about getting the bowflex dumbells possibly.. Please note that i bench press 275 pounds so some little dinky weights will not cut it. Do you guys have any other ideas? Thanks.

Make a gym out of the playground. I grew up in Heredia, Costa Rica. Dirt poor area.
Run every day. Find a playground, do pull-ups, push-ups. Even though you bench 275, just keep your muscles working, so you don’t lose it all. Do a ton more reps than you normally do.
On youtube there are some guys they show doing different exercises with cars, like tricep dips etc.
There are plenty of things you can do, so don’t fret. You can also buy some heavy weights (like several 45 pounders) and put them in a large backpack. Use that when you do your push-ups and pull-ups.
That’ll getchya.
