Costa Rica Trip Part 2
February 23rd, 2010
We visit the world famous house of prostitution “Hotel del Rey” and the “Blue Marlin Bar” and then we get down to tuning and wrenching on the fastest STI in Costa Rica. Sadly all the delays and problems ate up all my time there and we ran out of time and parts. The project will hopefully be completed in a few weeks.

Can anyone tell me roughly how much a 14 day trip to Costa Rica in March may cost (excluding airfare)?
February 23rd, 2010
I am planning a 14 day trip to Costa Rica with myself and my girlfriend in Mid March 2007. I already have a great deal on the airfare, but I am wondering what I should expect as far as a TOTAL price for the actual time in Costa Rica. This would include food, lodging, transportation, attractions, etc. I am planning a trip that would take us all over the country…a night here, a night there…I know this is an IMPOSSIBLE question to answer, but I am just looking to hear from people who have done this on a moderate budget. Thanks All!
So you think 1300 for BOTH of us for 2 weeks??? I would be completely happy with that. Has anyone actually gone to costa rica for 2 weeks? or is this just an outside estimate? Great answers guys! Thanks!
$400 hotels (nice hotels)
$300 food
$600 organized tours total $1300
If your girl friend is not high maintenance and wants to stay in hostels and take the buses and eat in cheaper restaurants you can do it for about $800 http://costa-rica-guide.com/travel/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=454&Itemid=684 http://www.hostelworld.com/findabed.php
Here are a couple of websites that may help you. Also go to the library or book store and pick up a book called "costa rica handbook"

I need help packing for Costa Rica Trip?
February 5th, 2010
I am traveling with my Spanish class from the US to Costa Rica this summer for three weeks during the months of May and June. I am having problems figuring out what to pack and what to expect when I go there. Please let me know what you suggest. Thanks.
I am going to San Jose
First I would find out where in Costa Rica you will be. Out by the coasts it tends to be hot with rain showers in the afternoon. The Central Valley (San Jose area) Tends to be around 65-78 degrees during the days and of course cooler in the nights. It also tends to be more cloudy and rainy in the central valley area so bring an umbrella. The coasts are like I stated earlier hot. I would bring cool comfortable clothes with a couple pairs of warm clothing (ie- jeans with a sweater) The bug spray is a good idea. I would keep Jewelry and electronic items to a minimum as these are items easily stolen and lost so they should be kept with you at all times. Costa Ricans as a whole are friendly, caring, helpful people. As you will be with a group I’m sure your teachers and friends can help you out as well. As far as using the ATM it is no problem just try to avoid them at night. Also call you bank and find out if there are any fees associated with using an out of coutry ATM machine. I’ve known people who bank with Bank Of America and they get charged $9-10 dollars EVERY TIME they make a withdrawl. Also be aware that when you do use the ATM there is also an exchange fee if you withdrawl Colone (the national currency of Costa Rica is the Colone) it is minimal but it all adds up. Some ATMs here in Costa Rica will only allow you to withdrwal Colone. However most will allow you to choose which currency you would prefer. Also if you plan on taking any tours and are going to pay in CASH most places will give you a 10% discount if you ask for it. This also includes the trinket shops where you can buy shirts and stuff. Just remember if you are paying CASH ask for a discount. I would definitly reccemend sunscreen as we are very close to the Equator here and the sun is many times stronger than in the United States. Keep in mind that we do have Supermarkets here and you can purchase almost anything here so if you do forget something you will most likely be able to find it here. You can also e-mail me with any other questions you may have. I hope you enjoy your trip.
I am going to Costa Rica on a School Trip and I need things to do with my hair if it gets wet. Any tips?
February 3rd, 2010
i am black with relaxed hair and i am going on a school trip to costa rica and of course we have planned trips to go to the beach. I need things that i caan do with my hair since my hairdresser will be out of my reach. Any suggestions?
girl , i know your dilemma !
a) before you leave , you can have it braided , then you dont have to worry about ur hair .
or my mom and i always do this :
while your hair is wet , make a part about 1inch or smaller .put some setting lotion and some moisturizer on it . next you grab 2 pieces of the hair , and twist it , just like you would do for a french braid , except it will be a twist . continue until the end and put a roller on the end . ( the roller is optional )repeat for remaining sections .
after this you will have wavy hair . and it will be really cute .
oh yeah , dont do that diffusing thing , it wont work for our hair .
