Costa Rica Vacation 2009

This November I spent 2 weeks in an area called Playa Aguja, Costa Rica (just outside of Jaco). It was absolutely beautiful there! We rented a very nice house on the ocean and everything was very affordable and fun!

How much to spend on vacation in Costa Rica?

Is 2,000 dollars enough to spend on vacation in Costa Rica? Is that considered a lot of money there for one week? I believe that is like a million plus colones. Can someone tell me, if I should bring more….or is that fine????

$2000 is more than enouph for a week, unless you plan on buying property, lol
Have fun and get some good pictures.

I need suggestions for a Costa Rica vacation?

My girlfriend and I are thinking about going to Costa Rica in late july early august and are wanting some information such as where to stay and things to do. We are hoping to stay somewhere on the atlantic side of the water, but would also maybe like to do some outdoorsy activities in addition to water activities such as fishing or snorkeling. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Well if you hit San Jose and visit their World famous "Jade Museum" as well as the Gold Museum, then fly to Quepos on the Pacific side of CR to visit Manuel Antonio Nature Park and its "World Famous" Beach along with all of the other tourist attractions that are only minutes away you would have seen the best that Costa Rica has to offer in the way of tourist entertainment!

You can fly from San Jose to Quepos in only 29 minutes for $98.00 round trip on Sansa Air out of the San Jose air port.

Hotel Kamuk – a Great Western Hotel in Quepos is a First Class Hotel by any stretch of the imagination with very inexpensive rates of like $50.00 per night and Quepos is known though out the world for their Huge fish that they catch in the blue waters of the Pacific right off Quepos! – This is where they have all of those Marlin and Sailfish Tournaments!

This is what I am going to do the last week of this month!

Have a good trip!

Costa Rica vacation: Is one week to short of time to see Manuel Antonio, Fortuna, and Manuel Antonio?

I’m going to Costa Rica for a week in March. I’m spending 2 nights in Manuel Antonio, 2 nights in Monteverde, and 3 nights in Fortuna (Arenal Volcano) – in that order. Everything’s already booked. Is this too much ground to cover in about a week? If I had to cut one, which one would it be? I don’t want to change plans, but now I’m a bit concerned about transportation eating up too much time. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

i would say NO, it is not enough time. costa rica is a very diverse country and transportation alone takes a longtime. if you’re only going to those 3 places, maybe it’s ok – it would be tight, but it’s not unacceptable or anything. i would give AT LEAST 3 nights for each place, and not to mention, there are plenty of other wonderful places in costa rica to explore as well.

what is it like to vacation in costa rica?

My husband and I are planning a vacation and I want to know what others have thought of costa rica and is it a place to bring a 2 yr old?

Hi, I live in Costa Rica, have traveled the whole country. My son was born here and this has been one of the best places to travel with kids.

I recommend the beaches simply because it’s more fun for the child, and a good hotel with a pool.

Here’s a couple of articles:

What’s the best part of Costa Rica to stay at for vacation?

I am planning on a vacation to Costa Rica in december. If I want to mainly just stay within one region of Costa Rica to relax and enjoy nature + beaches, what’s the best region? Thanks

I would recommend Puerto Viejo via Puerto Limon personally, as it is tucked in the south east corner between the beautiful Caribbean ocean and one of the countries larger National parks. As well it is less industrialized and touristy then many pacific cities.

Otherwise i would recommend Monte Verde and Tamarindo. Monte Verde is a mountain town with the best zip lines in the world and fantastic eco tours. Tamarindo is a popular beach tourist town on the pacific coast with all the luxuries of western civilization.

Puerto Viejo is more tranquillo but more out of the way. I prefer the Caribbean ocean to the pacific but both are nice.

Either way you will have at least half a day of traveling from the San Jose Airport

Jaco Costa Rica Vacation 2009

This Is the footage from our recent trip to Jaco Costa Rica. One of my top vacations of all time. Cant wait to go back. We stayed at the Vista Mar Condos next to Hotel Cocal and Casino. I’d say it has one of the top locations on the beach. The last bit of the footage is of Esterillos and a little beachside bar called the Low Tide Lounge. Awesome place..
