What is the weather like in Costa Rica in early June?

February 17th, 2010

I am thinking of sending my teenager, who is sensitive to heat, on a science trip to Costa Rica in early June. I want to make sure he/she won’t be miserably hot. Thank you for your help.

Depends where your going to send them.. We have different and changing weathers.. So, if you send them to the Central Valley, will be a fresh and cold temperature.. Are the highest lands..
If you send them to the Pacific coast, will be hot as hell in the midday, but rainy in the afternoon..
So, it’s your decision..
My country is great, they wont be disappointed for the trip..
Pura vida.

How is the weather in Costa Rica?

February 3rd, 2010

I am wondering about late June to mid July.

Well now, that depends on where you wish to visit. Central CR is more mountainous with cooler (not cold…absolutely no snow) year round. The Pacific and Caribbean coasts will be hotter and more humid. On the Caribbean side, ‘rainforests’ mean rain this time of year. Cahuita is my favorite. It sits at the entrance to the Cahuita National Park. Wonderful thunderstorms usually at night. While it is hot, it is not as wet as other regions and ocean breezes mean most people choose to not have air conditioning. I can’t wait to return at the end of July.

Fender American Stratocaster Deals With Costa Rican Climate Changes

February 1st, 2010

If you’ve seen any of our footage from Costa Rica, there’s a common theme. The weather and atmosphere make it very hard to maintain instruments there, but musician Roberto Wesson says his American Stratocaster doesn’t shy away from dangerous weather . . . like Mark Wahlberg in The Perfect Storm.

What is the weather like in Costa Rica the first week of June? Will the rainy season be bad then?

January 29th, 2010

I am planning a trip and don’t want to have it ruined by the weather!!

The "rainy season" means it rains , basically on a daily basis. It is not monsoons where it rains constantly for days. Here it will rain daily but at about the same time every day. Right now it is raining in the evenings, for an hour or so. By June it will probably rain in the afternoon. It depends on where you are. I’m in the Zona Sur , southern zone in a town called Golfito. We’re right on the Golfo Dulce. But from almost anywhere you can see the sky, ergo know when the rain is coming. Normally the showers are 1 – 1 1/2 hours then it stops.
When I left the US people said ( I came here from Key West lol), "What will you do when it rains?" response " SAme as I do here >>> If I have an umbrella I open it >> if not I get wet >>> but is warm rain >>>> But basically I stay where I am till it stops >>>
Here the Ticos cal a light sprinkle " Pelo de Gatos" >>>> very misty rain cat hairs. When it POURS and visibility is impared they call it "Agua Cero" no rain but they mean no visibility. In Golfito the island about 1/4 mile in front gradually white outs during "Agua cero" then it gradually fades back in. >>> Rainy season it better then dry season.

what is the weather in san jose, costa rica first week of july?

January 18th, 2010

I am going to Costa Rica (San Jose) tomorrow for 8 days. Can some one please please tell me what kind of weather to expect. rain, temperature, etc. will mosquitos be a problem there?

It is raining as we speak. It is June 27, 2008. It began raining at around 12:30 pm and it will probably continue into the late afternoon, early evening. During this time of year, the rain usually lets up between 5 and 7 pm.
The morning was warm and sunny. It was around 80 degrees Fahrenheit. You can expect temperatures in the 80’s range throughout your stay in July. If you go to the Caribbean or Pacific coasts, you can expect it to be warmer. It is also very humid in the Caribbean.
As for mosquitoes, bring your Off. Not only are there mosquitoes prevalent when you leave the cities, dengue is a concern, but Off usually does the trick.
How do I know, I live here? When I go to the coast, especially where there is a high incidence of dengue, I take Off and a gel called Mosquitol. It smells horrible, but the mosquitoes stay away. I hope that helps. For more information, you can look through the website http://www.ticosland.com.
