like to do deep sea fishing costa rica is the place?

Costa Rica has AWSOME fishing. Marlin, sail fish tuna you name it theyve got it. Its also a beautiful country and inexpensive. You can take a day trip to the rainforrest or volcano or spend all your time out with a fishing charter. Some of the Best places to go (for fishing) are Quepos, Mal Pais, Tamarindo for the big game fish or Puerto Viejo for more tropical and lobster. Keep in mind that summer is the rainy season to try to go btwn sept and april.

What are the best companys to go deep sea fishing with near Quepos, Costa Rica?

I’m going to Costa Rica for spring break and my dad and i are very interested in going deep sea fishing but I would like to know what are some of the best compnays to go with and also ones that have a fair price

By far the best company is Luna Tours. They have three boats and the boat you want to be on is the Magic Moon. You need to request that boat… The Magic Moon has it’s engines mid helm and the boat is faster than nearly every other boat in Quepos, that means more fishing time since you will be out there faster than any of the other boats and it also means you can change location quicker than anyone else so if a big bait ball appears with all kinds of fish on it, you can get there faster than the other boats. I run tours and this is the boat I send all my clients on and we have never been disappointed. Our groups have caught lots of big tuna, tons of sailfish, some big marlin, dolphin fish (mahi mahi) and wahoo. The office for Luna Tours is in the Kamuk Best Western Hotel right on the main street in Quepos and the owner’s name is Jerry. You can see them online at thttp://www.lunatours.net

BEST fishing in Costa Rica ?

We are traveling to Arenal, Manuel Antonio and MonteVerde
we love to fish and want to find the best fishing in Costa Rica in those areas. Freshwater preferred, but Saltwater also ok.

Well you are going to two great locations for fishing. Lake Arenal is Fresh water and Quepos has some of the best Sail fishing and off-shore charters.

Here is a link where there are two companies offering these tours.

Fishing in Costa Rica: Part One

Fishing off the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica for sportfish. Due to an important federal regulation, you must release any billfish, so we released every sailfish. We ate the Dorado that night (best fish in the world). We saw some dolphins. The ocean was 2 KILOMETRES deep in places. You will hear afrikaans (my native tongue) spoken. Most of the video was recorded about 50 miles off the coast.

I was looking for a a one week fishing trip from Jaco Costa rica & fish to Golfito staying on shore along way.?

I want to start fishing from Jaco Costa Rica and fish to Golfito with a mix of bottom and bill fishing. I contacted www.costaricadreams.com and they did not seem interested. I tried www.costaricafishingdeals.com and they hooked me up with a fine boat. They arranged for myself and three friends to fish from Jaco the first day and troll to Quepos, the hot spot this year for bill fish. We have rooms there where a suv will have out things in our room and a choice of dinning. The next day we leave Queops and troll to Canos Island. The fish the reefs for snaper, rooster etc. We spend a night close to drake bay. The following day we fish the blue water near Glofito then go into the bay. We spend the night at a remote fishing camp/ fishing village and see the real Costa Rica. Not Jaco at 10:pm if you know what I mean. That day we spread out with a choice of snook, rooster, snaper or head back out for bill fish. We return to Golfito and spend the night there. The next day we have a choice of flying via small plane to San Jose or being driven back up the panama internation high way. We have fished with www.costaricafishingdeals.com They have offered us all inclusive package of $ 2,500.00 the only thing we pay for is our airfare to and from Costa rica. Has anyone fished the gulf of Golfito ? and the outer reefs of Canos Island ( outside the reserve ) would it be wise to bring ultra light tackle. Just wanted some feed back if anyone has done this before we are excited. I am not certain why www.costaricadream.com don’t care to help fisherman with their dreams. I hear the people are very friendly and the camps very safe. It sounds like old costa rica. Are those areas as virgin as they appear with very little and scattered population. the dude just loves fishing.

I wouldn’t say you need to bring ultra-lite tackle… And you’re right, don’t go in to Jaco if it is not day time. You will get into some trouble with the locals. The areas that you are talking about are not too familiar to me, but I know that along the coast, you won’t find many places that have scattered populations. Be careful out there, it is not ideal right now.
