The international airport in San Jose is about a 3-hour flight from Miami, Atlanta, Houston or Dallas. It’s about 4 hours from New York. References : http://www.daleleatherman.com/GolfCostaRica.htm
About 2hours & 50 minutes! GREAT flights via Spirit Airlines everytime~ Now we fly out of Fort Lauderdale, which is even better! The only real ‘time consuming’ at airports is of course Immigration..Otherwise, it’s a snap flying to beautiful CR!

Everyone that has already written is right about the flight times and if you are north of Miami it is alot easier to fly out of Fort Lauderdale although I would prefer American Airlines as with the times they leave at, there are no immigration lines when you arrive in San Jose or when you get back to Fort Lauderdale. When I fly I check out a website at http://www.costaricaairfare.com and then compare that to the big engines orbitz, travelocity etc. If all the same I go with costaricaairfare.com because I can actually talk to someone if I call….. Between 2.5 to 3 hours depending on the airline, weather, and time of day.
