When is the best time to make a 5-week stay in Costa Rica over the summer?

Author: I am interesting in completing a 5 week long study abroad program to Costa Rica. I don’t know if I should shoot for the beginning of summer (May-June) or the middle/end (July-August). I trying to take into account weather, flights, events etc.?
Keep in mind that Costa RIca has it’s ‘summer" from December-May and the rest of the time is rainy season. For the best weather, I’d opt for May-June

It’s very difficult to predict these things so far in advance. Why don’t you contact one or two travel agencies and get some professional opinions?

I spent 6 weeks in Costa Rica this past summer. I was there from the middle of July to the end of August. If you will be spending time in the rainforest and want to avoid being soaked the whole time, you may wish to go July to August rather than May to June. If you would like to see leatherback sea turtles (the largest of the sea turtles..up to 7 feet long!!!) you will want to go May to June. Enjoy your trip when ever you choose to go. You will have a great time either way!!! Enjoy the local food and culture and travel around the country as much as possible!! There is so much to see!!!
