Cheap/reasonable vacations to South America? Particularly Peru, Brazil, or Costa Rica.?
Hi,
Anyone know of good deals, good websites, or good travel agents for vacations to South America? My family and I are looking to go. My eldest brother and I are both adults, my youngest brothers are 3, 11, and 15, step mom is 33 and dad is 42. We are looking for the best deal and can go anytime! We are open to suggestions for destinations and even combos of destinations– depending on the best deal. Any travel agent I’ve called seems unable to comprehend that we are so flexible– they won’t help us without specific dates and locations. Which seems ridiculous because if I do all that planning I might as well book the vacation myself.
well i would say you should go to colombia it is amazing and cheap, i dont know where you are from so i cant tell you what cheap flights you can get but avianca which is the national airline in colombia flies very cheap from madrid or from new york miami fort lauderdale chicago atlanta etc to bogota … i recommend you see places like villa de leyva, tayrona and the salt cathedral in zipaquira and go to cities like bogota, medellin, cartagena, cali etc

Hi, Costa rica is in central america not south america. You can go all year round its always warm but november through like april i believe is rainy season. You can go to expedia or you can go to http://www.taca.com that airline travels to all of central america and also to some countries in South america like Colombia. I hope this helps. Keep me updated

I just finished a study abroad program in Costa Rica and used expedia to book my tickets. The days with the cheapest airfare are generally Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Wednesdays and it’s best to search and buy tickets during the week, the prices will be different.
I would recommend going to Costa Rica as there are tons of things to do, it’s relatively cheap and easy to travel around Costa Rica and you will be able to find many activities like the beach and tours through national parks that will be appropriate for all members of your family.
On expedia you can advance book your hotels and airfare together and if you are willing to search for a couple weeks pretty diligently and your dates are flexible you should be able to fine a really good deal. The rainy season lasts through October, but the rain is not much of an inconvenience and rarely lasts more than an hour or so.
Feel free to contact me if you’re looking for more help!
