Going to Costa Rica Mon, staying in Guanacaste at The Villas Sol. Should I exchange USD to colon? any tips?

Anyone have any advice/tips? Is it wise to exchange my money to colones? a little of both? credit cards? Any places i HAVE to see, or to stay away from? THANX!!

No, there is no place in the whole country that you even need colones. You can take them out of an ATM, but you’re ok with dollars, especially in Guanacaste.

Hi, the other poster is right. Is your transportation paid for? Becuase if you get a local cab that would be the only place I’d recommend to use colones.

Otherwise, you’ll get a great rate in an ATM!

    Hope this helps,
