San Jose’ Costa Rica Hotels?

Author: I am interested in hearing from anyone who has actually stayed in a Hotel in San Jose Costa Rica. I’ve viewed several on various websites & would appreciate any personal information you can provide.
Am flying into San Jose & need a room for a night or 2 while waiting for friends meeting up with us before we travel to the coast.
Also what would be an interesting/fun thing to so while in San Jose for only a day?

There isn’t a great amount of things to do in the city of San Jose and it can be quite dangerous at night time. I would recommend the Holiday Inn in San Jose. It’s on Calle 11/Avenida 11. That being said, no one in Costa Rica uses street addresses so that will be of little help to you. It’s one of the tallest buildings in San Jose so that will help you to find it.
Downtown San Jose has some interesting museums like the National Pre-Colombian Gold Museum, the Jade Museum, etc.
Avoid the Del Ray Hotel as it is really a brothel. So is the Zona Blue.
