Peggy and Debra Berg, the mother-daughter duo from California, had their lap gastric sleeve operation in Costa Rica on the same day by the same bariatric surgeon in the same hospital. This video was recorded 11 months after their sleeve gastrectomy surgery in Costa Rica.
They had tried all kinds of diets like Weight watchers, south east diet, fruit diet, and so on. They also tried working out in the gym.
Because of their higher BMI, they had problems like knee pain and co-morbidities like high cholesterol, and high blood pressure.
But gastric sleeve in the US was beyond their budget. Another problem they faced was that Peggy was considered ineligible for bariatric surgery in the US. She was 70 years old when she got the surgery done; 60 is the cut-off for weight loss surgery in the US.
So, they researched on the net for cheaper options for sleeve resection surgery and found Medical Tourism Corporation. They decided on Costa Rica for their weight loss surgery and ended up saving about 40% of what theyd have to pay in the US.
Debra is pleased that Medical Tourism Corporation answered all the questions, and she asked many.
The hospital in Costa Rica to which they went had all the modern equipment and the staff was courteous and professional. There were always English-speaking people around them or they had interpreters. They stayed in private rooms at the hospital which were spacious enough for a companion.
Post-gastric sleeve surgery, Debra lost 80 pounds and Peggy 55. Their general health has improved drastically.

OK, now we’re turning around and approaching from the opposite direction after the 1st aborted landing. Notice the flaps and strong winds. Finally landed safely…only to sit waiting for the fuellers to re-fuel us and for Liberia to re-open. 2 hours on the ground. Finally, Liberia Int’l re-opened and we were off again! One of the best AC crew I have ever flown with. All flight attendants and pilots were excellent, up-dated us every 15 minutes (with what little information they were getting from SJO ATC and LIR ATC), passed out beverages and snacks and left the entertainment system on, all while doing their best to empathize and reassure everyone on-board to the best of their ability in a situation where little information was relayed to the pilots and crew and limited resources.
This economically strong and politically stable nation of Central America has coastlines along both the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific ocean. Volcanoes, rain forest and great surf will keep you occupied. The people will welcome you to their proud culture. Allow an InterContinental Concierge member lead you on a special tour. http://TravelCostaRicaNow.com Hey everyone. Not always the most exciting videos, but usually some good information if you’re thinking about making the move to Costa Rica. Here, we’re talking to Kinga, born in Poland but lived the States for about 18 years before deciding to make the move to Costa Rica with her husband Danny. Kinga discusses making the move to Costa Rica, buying property in Costa Rica, starting a business in Costa Rica and even how they manage to keep their grocery bill low, along with other must know info. If you’re thinking about re-locating, then you should definitely check this video out. At first, Kinga may be difficult to understand, just give it a minute. Hope it helps.

Just another Friday night at the cafe in the Hotel Delrey at about 11pm…I know, the quality sucks & there’s no sound, but you can still briefly check out the scenery!
