Costa Rica Hotel REVIEW- Casa Colina in Mal Pais
Costa Rica has thousands of hotels, villas, hostels, b&b’s, guest houses, rooms for rent, and camping grounds all around the country catering to travelers that want to see what Costa Rica is all about. Many times these hotels don’t have everything you would expect to find in a hotel like hot water, tv’s, or a/c. We travel around Costa Rica to bring you the most up to date information that we can find. During our travels we stay at different hotels so you can inform you on what it’s really like to stay there.
Staying in the Malpais/Santa Teresa area? Are you on a budget? Find out from the Costa Rica Travel Channel’s very own DAngelo and michael alan if Casa Cloina is worth the effort.

San Jose Airport Costa Rica
Hey Everyone, michael alan and DAngelo from the Costa Rica Travel Channel. We went to Juan Santamaria International Airport aka San Jose Airport (so don’t be confused) and made a little video so you would know what to expect when you fly into Costa Rica. Sometimes, this airport can be quite intimidating, especially during high season (Dec-April). If you made it to La Fortuna, home of the Arenal Volcano, stop by, but don’t forget the Cacique.
Every country seems to have their own set of requirements when traveling ‘in’ and ‘out,’ and Costa Rica is no exception. The good news is, the requirements are fairly basic, as it’s quite easy to get in and out of the San Jose airport (Juan Santamaria International Airport)- with the possible exception of ‘time’. There ARE frequent instances of waiting a few hours in various lines, depending. Flying into Liberia’s, Daniel Oduber International Airport, located in the Guanacaste region is just a bit easier and less crowded than its older brother, Juan Santamaria Airport. But, if you are interested in Costa Rica travel, then you should probably take a look at this important information concerning entry and departure requirements even if you’re a seasoned traveler. The Costa Rica Travel Channel thinks it’s a good idea to remind you of things you may have forgotten you know.
Things have changed and a drivers license and birth certificate will NOT get you into Costa Rica. YOU MUST HAVE A VALID PASSPORT that will not expire within six months. If your passport is in poor condition the Costa Rica Travel Channel highly recommends that you replace it before leaving, you could be turned away. If you even suspect your passport may be a bit ‘weathered,’ don’t chance it, trust us, you really can be turned away and put on the next return flight. This would definitely be a vacation buzz kill. So, error on the side of being overly conservative.
US citizens as well as those from Canada and most European countries may visit Costa Rica for 90 days. If you wish a longer visit, you must leave the country for 72 hours. This will refresh your visa for another 90 days. However, there is a legal loophole. If for instance you left the country BEFORE your 90 days were up, you could re-enter after just a short day trip across the border, which would also refresh your visa for another 90 days. The Costa Rica Travel Channel does not endorse this, just reporting it. Doing this in and out thing a few times is no big deal. Doing it over and over (perpetual tourism) you can run a serious risk of being expelled from the country or refused re-admittance.

Gaia Hotel Reserve Manuel Antonio Costa Rica
http://TravelCostaRicaNOW.com
Hey Everyone, we got a chance to stay a couple nights at the Gaia Hotel and Reserve in Manuel Antonio Costa Rica. http://GaiaHR.com Folks, this is a 5-Star, ADULT ONLY hotel and resort. Quite funny actually, the night before we were at Tranquilo Backpackers in San Jose- reviewing that and some of the other hostels in the San Jose area. The next night, Gaia in Manuel Antonio. So, does this 5-star hotel live up to its status? I gotta say we were thinking Gaia may be a little pretentious, after all, studio’s and villa’s start at about $220 and go up to about $900. Don’t get me wrong, we appreciate 500,000+ thread count and flat screen tv’s as much as anyone, and they DO have a 12 acre Reserve with rare wildlife and lush vegetation on the property. But what about the pretentiousness? Would they be snooty? Well, Check this video out and see if the Gaia Hotel and Reserve meet OUR standards of 5-Star… without the ATTITUDE.

nude beach in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica
The towns of Quepos and Manuel Antonio are known as very gay friendly towns of Costa Rica, with a hand full of gay owned hotels and restaurants in the area. Theres not really any gay night life going on there other then the Tutu Bar (located above El Gato Negro) which has become more straight friendly over the past few years, or the occasional gay party put on by one of the local gay hotels. Until recently, there was even a nude gay beach
known as La Playita where gay travelers had been coming for years. The beach is still there, and locals are trying to keep it known as a gay beach, however getting naked is now done at your own risk and can mean an unpleasant experience with the local authorities. A new luxury hotel (Arenas Del Mar) has been built in the area just in front of the beach and since then, hotel staff are quick to call the cops anytime someone is seen relaxing nude on the beach.
(When visiting this beach as well as any place in Costa Rica make sure you carry a copy of your passport. Not just a copy of your photo page but a copy of the stamp showing when you entered Costa Rica. Without those copies youll guarantee yourself a trip to one of Costa Ricas lovely jails.)

On the internet I meet Matteo who owns an Aprilia Caponord just like mine. He invited me to stay at his beautiful hotel once I got to Costa Rica. And I ended up staying for quite a while since my bike had to go for a service check and Diana had to arrange to go back to Colombia. But what a nice place, and most of all sweet people – Matteo, his wife Meranda and their daughter Merissa – 3xM. Thanks for everything!
